A classified U.S. intelligence report, the first formal appraisal of global terrorism by U.S. intelligence agencies since the Iraq war began, and published today (Sunday 24/9) by The New York Times, blamed the war for the surge in global terrorism, adding it helped fuel Islamic radicalism worldwide. The report “says that the Iraq war has made the overall terrorism problem worse,” said one American intelligence official. Also read the view on this issue by Al Jazeera.

These video glasses show movies on a big screen that only you can see . Tired of squinting at blockbusters on a three-inch portable media player? Connect your device to a personal-display headset, and movies will appear on a virtual three-foot screen that seems to float several feet in front of your face. The "I Miss Monica" song from Dan Friedman's new comedy CD: "those innocent days just before the election - ...when the president didn't have to go to war just to get an erection, ....with her cute baret and her pouting lips she made the most of her internship". Australian brewer Foster's has become the first major brand to shift its entire advertising spend away from TV onto the internet. Foster's ("Australian for beer") has thrown a significant amount of money at ladult site, Heavy, beginning with the "Massive Mating Game" which involves video profiles of ten Australian "sheilas" (in their bikinis) talking about themselves. After watching the videos and answering a list of questions, participants went into the draw to win a date with their dream girl, and a trip to Vegas.

American computer giant, IBM, recently invited 100,000 collaborators to participate in a worldwide InnovationJam that Business Week described as "the online equivalent of a town meeting". The aim was to develop "innovations so powerful they will transform industries, alter human behaviour, and lead to new businesses for IBM," with a dedicated website, www.globalinnovationjam.com.

If I tell you that a very traditional, stylish and high fashion brand like Gucci has decided to build its new website without using Flash, the first thing you might think is: "my God, how conservative, old stylish (and boring) they are!". What I expect you to say is simply "wow!!!". Yes, "wow", because Gucci has decided to drop Flash and opt for a much more innovative solution: Web 2.0 technologies (a.o. Javascript and Ajax just to name a few).

The Web Marketing Association announced the findings of a decade-long study of web development trends in more than 80 industries and issued the resulting website-development benchmarks, based on nearly 10,000 website evaluations, in its "Internet Standards Assessment Report" (ISAR). The association evaluates benchmarks in seven categories: design, ease of use, innovation, content, technology, interactivity and copywriting.
